Alastair Blanshard leads the sustainable aviation team at ICF, supporting companies and governments across the global industry to reduce the environmental impact from aviation. In recent projects, Alastair has worked with several airlines in the US and Europe to understand and purchase sustainable fuel (SAF), supported ACI world to establish a net zero carbon target for their ~2,000 airport membership by 2050, and worked with ATAG to assess the technical, economic and environmental requirements to deploy sufficient SAF to achieve net zero carbon airline emissions by 2050. Alastair combines this practical experience with a technical and financial understanding as a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Financial Analyst.
