Dr Chris Dudfield is the Chief Technology Officer and a member of the management team at Intelligent Energy, where he has worked since the launch of the business in 2001. During his time at the company Chris has held several positions including R&D Director, Director of Operations and Director of Programmes. Chris has worked continuously in the field of fuel cell technology since 1990, covering experience in fuel cell stack, fuel processing and fuel cell systems technology. He has extensive knowledge and expertise of fuel cell and hydrogen generation technologies including applications across stationary power, motive and portable power markets.
Chris is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and holds Chartered Chemist and Chartered Scientist professional status.
Alexandra Härmatis is an experienced carbon trader who has been with Vertis Environmental Finance since 2017. Her areas of expertise include environmental commodities, with a particular focus on ETS and CORSIA. Before joining Vertis, Alexandra held roles such as Partner Account Manager at Fujitsu Technology Solutions and Team Supervisor at SELLBYTEL Group. Ms. Härmatis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management from Lund University School of Economics and Management.
Sophia is Director EU & UK Government Affairs, Policy & Sustainability at LanzaJet, where she is responsible for the strategy and delivery of advocacy initiatives to scale a sustainable domestic SAF industry and market across Europe, translating regulations for project development and contributing to business strategy. Prior to joining LanzaJet,
Sophia has held leadership positions across the renewable fuels & energy sector, including at renewable fuels producer Dimeta, covering the UK, Europe and United States, and at Liquid Gas UK, where she led the work on a pathway for the UK LPG industry to transition to renewable alternatives. Sophia is a committed and active member of the European Advanced Biofuels Coalition, serving on their board and as Chair during 2023 and 2024, representing advanced biofuel producers and its value chain, across road, marine and aviation sectors, with EU policy makers. She has represented companies and industries in a variety of European and Global Initiatives, such as COP28 in Dubai and at the G7 2024 in Turin, and regularly contributes thought leadership and opinion pieces to the media on energy and renewables topics.
Maxime Meijers is the CEO and Co-founder of Estuaire, a climate impact data platform focused on reducing aviation emissions. With a background in urban air mobility at Airbus, Maxime now works with airlines, airports, financiers, and OEMs to help them integrate both CO₂ and non-CO₂ emissions such as contrails into their sustainability strategies.
Simon is a sustainable aviation and airport specialist at Ricardo with 16 years’ experience working in sustainability including the last 7 years focus in aviation. Simon has worked extensively with airports, airlines and handling agents. He coordinates the Ricardo aviation services across multiple disciplines, whether that is carbon, air quality, energy transition or SAF. He is focussing his time on the most significant material impacts that airports and airlines have on the environment. As climate risk impacts operations more, Simon has supported clients to understand the impacts on them and to help with their ESG disclosures. Simon is an active member of the BAG Sustainability working group and the Airports UK sustainability group.
Polona Gregorin is the head of unit Mobility: Air, Rail, Water and Intermodal Policy in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action. Previously, she was the deputy head of unit for ETS Policy Coordination and International Carbon Markets. She has been involved in the European Commission’s work on the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) since 2008. Now her work focuses on implementing the ETS revision for aviation and ETS extension to maritime emissions.
Michael Evans leads analysis of the Group’s emissions to inform its Net Zero by 2050 Roadmap, and is responsible for fulfilling IAG’s sustainability reporting requirements. Michael has more than 7 years’ experience working on carbon market policies. This includes developing market analysis on the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS); and holding several roles in the UK Government, including taking part in international negotiations on carbon pricing; policy development work to establish the UK ETS; and implementation of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) in UK legislation.
James Richardson has been Director of Analysis at the Climate Change Committee since July 2023.
From 2016 to July 2023, he was Chief Economist at the National Infrastructure Commission, where he led on production of the UK’s first ever National Infrastructure Assessment, an in-depth assessment of the UK’s major infrastructure needs on a 30-year time horizon. He led net zero related work for the Commission’s second National Infrastructure Assessment, due to be published 18 October 2023.
Prior to this, James was Director, Fiscal and Deputy Chief Economic Adviser at HM Treasury from July 2012 to March 2016 and Director, Public Spending and Chief Microeconomist at HM Treasury from September 2008 to July 2012.
Sindi Kuci is a researcher at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group, where she works on issues pertaining to the regulation of carbon markets, with a particular focus on Article 6 and CORSIA. She has previously worked at the LSE Grantham Research Institute and the Oxford Climate Litigation Lab, and as a research consultant for the World Bank Group.
