Meiltje de Groot has been CEO of Groningen Airport Eelde since January 2021. She graduated from Groningen University in 1991 in Economics & Finance and has a long career in the aviation sector, including 12,5 years at Schiphol, 7 years of being the director of Twente Airport and 9 years as a director of Teuge International Airport. She is the founder of two organizations in the field of sustainable aviation and electric flying in the Netherlands. She is chairman of the Association of Dutch Airports (of which Schiphol is also a participant) and of the Economic Board of the Northern Netherlands.
