The SW Future Flight Innovation Zone (FFIZ)

The SW Future Flight Innovation Zone (FFIZ) is a project led by Somerset Council and supported by Devon County Council that aims to grow and support the market for future flight technologies across the SW of England. FFIZ brings together a secure eco-system of stakeholders to drive this activity and links into assets for test and demonstration which includes Exeter Airport and iAero in Yeovil. During 2025/26 we will be developing several new projects to accelerate further potential for our demonstration and test areas that will include support with SORA for BVLOS activity as well as piloting activity to drive up the market for the utilisation of drone-tech for sophisticated data capture.
