Matt Ridley is the Director for Sustainability and Innovation at the oneworld Alliance where he works alongside the member airlines to promote initiatives that can decarbonise travel. Prior to joining oneworld in 2024, Matt established IAG’s Hangar 51 Ventures Fund, one of the airline industry’s first CVCs. In his seven years at IAG he deployed capital into new airline technologies, which most recently included sustainable aviation fuels, hydrogen propulsion and operational efficiency systems. Before this, Matt led a CVC for a London based Hedge Fund making investments into start-ups developing Cleantech, AI and Cyber security businesses. He holds degrees in History (UCL) and Global Governance (Exeter).
